Drug Awareness Workshops

Young Urbanites is aware of the impact of the rise and growth of an increasingly dangerous drug culture within these shores.

We believe that in order to effectively protect the health and welfare of young people we need to arm them with a drug education that is also a social education.

‘Keepin’ it real’ is a series of workshops that explore the links between personal circumstances, youth culture and drug use.

The workshops are best suited to young people in Years 10 and 11. We have found that these years often find young people at their most impressionable, vulnerable, and open to the attraction of apparently glamorous, yet dangerous sub-cultures and lifestyles as they search for self-awareness, identity, and a sense of belonging.
