Young Urbanites

History

Formed in 2001, Young Urbanites began its life in east London delivering self development and drug education programmes to young people who were close to exclusion from mainstream education, and others who were at risk of becoming involved in crime, drugs or both.

After moving to Norwich in 2004 and reviewing our services and activities, we recognised the need to offer support to all young people, as academic success can be of little value if a young person does not develop the social skills that are required to turn qualifications into achievement in life.

As a result, we restructured and gained charitable status in 2006, and increased our activities to offer greater support to schools and a wider range of young people.

Now, as a registered ASDAN centre, we still maintain our unique delivery style, while offering programmes that support curriculum-based activities and offer young people the opportunity to have their achievements recognised.
